Next steps + YOUR feedback


Solarcraft 0.0.7 Rumble has just released and changed nearly everything about the game. As today marks our 1-Month-Anniversary, i want to celebrate that and want to say THANK YOU.

We told you about the changes coming to the game and its ambitions. On Reddit, i was on the Godot-related hot-list for 2 days and got so much positive feedback – Thank you :)

In the last days, our Itch- and Youtube-account got more and more followers and so more people interested in our game. We know about that and have huge plans for the future. Our journey has just started!

This is our short-term roadmap:

  • -Start working on an internal update in order to prepare the next huge update.
  • -The next huge update is Solarcraft 0.0.8 Adroit: It will implement first crafting-mechanics, new content like craftable pickaxes. Later, the player will need pickaxes to destroy parts of layer 1 of the game (the ground).

 

The layers:

  • Layer 0: Bedrock, an undestroyable layer, which can only be seen when destroying layer 1
  • Layer 1: This layer ist he ground on which the player is walking on (for example the ice). Using pickaxes, this layer can be manipulated.
  • Layer 2: The Blocks. When no tool (like the pickaxe) is selected, items/ blocks can be added to this layer
  • Layer 3: On some blocks, the player can place accesoires like flowers. For example, it will be possible to place a flower on a crafted table or chair.
  • Layer 4: This ist he top layer/ roof. The player needs a special tool to place block on this layer and blocks become about 75% transparent.

This step will need many intenral preperations and ist very important for the basic gameplay (build + craft)
